Research Assistant - SST Software - C# and Web Developer

SST Software is a privately held agricultural software development and information services provider with customers in twenty-two countries.   SST Software is the worldwide leader in the development of site-specific technology infrastructure and applications, and is currently active in developing, processing and delivering user-defined information products to many of the largest and most progressive agricultural service providers in North America, Australia, and South America. 

SST Software is looking for a developer to participate in research, planning for scalability, maintainability, and testing of company systems in a small team environment.  Candidate(s) will work on existing products in addition to assisting in the research, design and feasibility analysis of new product development.  Candidate(s) will assist with creating, maintaining, and aiding in the support of web-based products, and/or MS Windows based desktop applications. 

Job Description:  SST Software is searching for a Full-Time .NET and Web Developer for hire in the Stillwater office.  This position will deal with the analysis, design, development, and testing of Winforms Applications, .NET Web Services, Web UIs, JQuery or similar Javascript UI toolkit, and other technical and programming duties as required.  The ideal candidate will have had an introduction to working as a software developer and introduction to working with C# and Web UIs.

Skills and Knowledge:

Technical skills:  .NET development with C# (Framework 2.0+), IIS, Windows Communication Foundation, HTML, Javascript, Javascript UI toolkits (JQuery or similar), Database interaction via ADO.NET, Understanding of modern OOP patterns.

Soft skills:  Ability to work on a small team, experience with Agile (SCRUM) development methodologies, ability to communicate with staff in various non-technical positions in order to deliver a product that meets or exceeds expectations.

Helpful skills:  Experience with Visual Studio 2010, Test driven development, Team Foundation Server 2010, Workflow Foundation

Education:Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Management of Information Systems is preferred.
