User-facing Functionality:
Logistics:
A new interface has been added that combines the order management dashboard, the application plan dashboard, and the map selection screen into one interface.  This new interface is designed with a dual monitor display in mind, so that the dashboard view can be displayed on the left screen and the map view is displayed on the right screen.  As the user can select recommendations on either screen and the selection will be made on both views.

Importing multiple field boundaries from one shp file: Multiple fields contained in a single shape file can now be imported easily.  If the DBF contains a field name column, the file will be broken apart by the changing names.

Digitize Fields within Yield, As-Applied, EC, Soil Test Import Wizards:  When importing spatial data that doesn’t intersect with an existing field boundary, users can now launch the digitizer from within the import interface.  This will load the imported file into the digitizer and the user can draw around the file and save the boundary.

As-Applied Import:  Allows a user to change a matched value when importing.

Reports:
Yield by Nutrient:  Point and polygon intersection to calculate total amount of nutrient applied (across multiple operations) where a yield polygon exists.

Fertilizer Individual Operation:  Now working with as-applied data

Page Order: Set page order for Record Reports

Planting Individual Operation:  Changed layout to incorporate a table/grid with pertinent information

Cost by Mgmt Zone:  Report cost by mgmt zone

Other Functionality:
DB structure has been modified to support internationalization of Reference Data.

Live Road Data

  • Streaming road data is now available in the Maps section of Summit.
  • Road data can be turned on in a new tab called “Live Imagery”, located in the bottom, right panel.  Once turned on the setting is remembered until turned off.
  • These images are cached and are therefore, once downloaded, available offline.
  • Future versions of Summit will make this layer available when digitizing and reporting.

SST Image Server Deployed

  • In order to ensure wider coverage of high-quality imagery, SST has deployed its own imagery server.
  • You will now see a new image server called “SST Image Server” when downloading imagery and digitizing.
  • Through a partnership with Earth Map Solutions, SST is currently deploying 2006-2008 NAIP imagery for most of the US Corn Belt.   In time, SST will add NAIP data for the rest of the country.

As-Applied Import for JD

  • John Deere GreenStar 2 planting data can now be imported into Summit.  This functionality can be found under Data Management/Import Data.
  • Future versions will add the support for importing spraying and other types of data as well as other hardware formats.

Total Field Acres Added to Home Screen

  • In the SST Summit Statistics panel on the Home screen of Summit, you will now see Total Field Acres reported.  This is the sum of all field boundary acres in Summit.

SyncNow Timer

  • In the settings area of Summit, users can now optionally add two SyncNow timers.
  • This feature will run SyncNow, if Summit is idle or closed, at the designated time.

Digitize Fields from Holding Tank Data

  • From the Holding Tank, users can right-click on a file and select "Digitize Field Boundary".  Aerial imagery will automatically load in the the Digitizing Screen as a background to the Holding Tank data.

Management Zone Labels Added

  • Labels are automatically added to management zones created from surfaced data.  For example, management zones derived from a yield surface will be named by their yield class ranges.  These labels can be manually changed.

Management Zone Ordering Interface Improved

  • Several changes have been made to the management zone selection interface when placing FarmRite orders.

·          Selecting by name - If labels are attached to a management zone, selecting the label name will select all of its associated polygons.

·          Larger Map – The map area has been increased.

·          Map Tools Added- Zoom in, zoom out, and zoom to extent functions have been added to assist in selecting polygons.

Yield by Management Zone Report Added

·          This is a new report option under Harvest reports that will give you min, max and average yield for each polygon in the management zone.

Option to Remove Logo from Reports

·         Users can now remove the previously assigned logo from reports.  This setting is found at Reports/Settings/Logo Settings.

Soil Sampling Map

This new report is found in the Reports/Record Reports/ Soil Sampling section and will print a full page map of soil sample sites.  Settings for the report include orientation, attribute to label, and color for points and label text.

Credit Preview

When creating a new product recommendation the user can now right-click on recommendations listed in the “credit nutrient using…” box and get a preview of the rec, as well as the parameters used to create it.  This should make it easier to select the correct rec for credit instead of relying on the name alone.

Ability to export fertilizer operations collected in Records section

Fertilizer recommendations saved in the Records section of Summit or collected in Stratus can now be exported to shape file based variable rate controllers.  Future versions will allow these recommendations, and other types of recommendations, to be exported to all variable rate controller types.

SST Summit, Plus! and Professional 4.5

Automated Soil Test Import API

  • This programming interface allows soil test labs to directly attach soil test results to the SST server minimizing the need for users to receive soil test result emails and manually import each file.  Currently, Servi-Tech Laboratories has implemented the API.

Cost Group Improvements

  • Multiple prices within a season – a product can now have multiple prices within a cost group.  When prices are entered the user will enter an “Effective Date” that will be checked against the application date at the time of reporting.  Any number of pricing/effective date combinations can be made within a season.
  • Cost Groups are now season specific – Cost Groups are now assigned to a specific season.  This has been done in order to reduce the chances of a single edit changing the prices across multiple seasons.  Users can now open a cost group and click “Save As…” to duplicate a cost group for the next season.

Combine VRT Nutrient Recs

  • Management zone based FarmRite recommendations can now be merged together into a single recommendation.  An example of this is where a user places two different recs within a center pivot field, one for the corners and one for the circle, but wants to spread them as a single application. In the Maps section of Summit a user can combine two nutrient recommendations by selecting one and then choosing the menu option “Merge Data”.

Replaced Image Projection library

  • In an effort to support newer imagery formats, namely MrSID® Generation 3 files, SST has replaced the image projection library in Summit. The new library, while wide ranging in support of popular projections, does not support as many options as the former version. Regretfully, this means that there is a chance that images imported in the past will no longer be visible in Summit.
  • Field level images created from general images – After digitizing a field from a “General Image” the user now has the option of creating a “Field Specific Image” for the extents of the new field. This option is controlled by the check mark on the naming screen.

SST Proprietary Map Control put into the digitizing section.

  • SST is working diligently to replace the existing 3 rd party software that has been used as the map control since the inception of Summit. In this version a new SST proprietary map control has been implemented in the digitizing/field editing section of Summit. Future versions will see the new map control implemented in the Maps, Records, and Plans sections of Summit. MrSID Generation 3 files will currently only display in the digitizing section until a future release.

Combine fields

  • Functionality for combining two fields has been added.  Overlapping fields can now be merged together and data will be retained from both fields.

Syngenta Eagle View Additions

  • Import field operation data and create As-Applied maps (i.e., spraying data) for the following formats:
    Satloc, Del Norte
  • Default Flight Plan Dashboard filter is now set to ”Pending.”
  • On the Manage Orders dashboard, after clicking “Release” and then “Save, ” a pop-up message notifies the user “Save Complete” with an “OK” button.
  • In the Flight Plan dashboard, when a user tries to export a previously exported field a warning message “ ‘CFF Name’ was previously exported” is displayed.
  • When placing an order the Company name is now displayed with the location. For example, “Perry, IA – Joe’s Flying Service” is now displayed as “My Coop – Perry, IA – Joe’s Flying Service.”

Syngenta Eagle View Additions

Eagle View Ordering Changes

  • Drop Dead Date Added – When placing an order users are required to fill out this new attribute. The Drop Dead Date is the date after an order is no longer valid and SHOULD NOT be sprayed.
Eagle View Manage Orders Changes
  • Release Check Box Added – Users must release fields and/or orders before they can be exported in a flight plan. Application Window Added – The application window selected by the order placer is now visible in the Manage Order dashboard. Distance Filter Added – On the left side of the screen a new distance filter has been added that will allow the user to select a starting location (i.e., airport location) and filter the orders in the view to those within a specified distance. Map Added – At the bottom of the dashboard is a new button called “Map”. When clicked it will create a map containing all fields currently displayed in the dashboard. Report Added - At the bottom of the dashboard is a new button called “Report”. When clicked it will create a report summarizing fields in the view into three categories of Pending, Exported, and Completed. Each section summarizes the amount of product needed or used.
  • Drop Dead Date – A column called Drop Dead Date has been added. The dates in this column can be edited by clicking on them and interacting with a pop-up calendar.
Eagle View Flight Plan Changes
  • Starting Location Remembered – The last starting location used is remembered between sessions. Product Filter Added – On the left side of the dashboard a new filter has been added that allows the user to filter orders that contain specific products. Any combination of products can be selected. Released Column Added – This column shows the user if a field has been “Released” for application. The order can not be exported as part of a flight plan unless it is released. Drop Dead Date Column Added – This column shows the user the drop dead date for each application. If the flight plan date is after the drop dead date, the field cannot be exported. Satloc JOB File Added – The option of creating a JOB file for Satloc controllers is now available. In the settings section, a user can set this option to either create one JOB file for all fields or one JOB file for each field. Note: When creating the JOB file, Summit reduces multi-polygon fields to one polygon and reduces the number of vertices to 115 per field. Del Norte SHP File Added - The option of creating a SHP file for Del Norte controllers is now available. Each field is required to have its own SHP file. Note: When creating the SHP file, Summit reduces multi-polygon fields to one polygon and reduces the number of vertices to 115 per field.
  • Individual Field Maps List File Names – The name of the corresponding JOB, SHP, and KML files created are listed on each map.

SST Stratus Version 4.3.0.15

Stratus Sync Independent of Field Device

  • A field computer ID is no longer used to uniquely identify Stratus. The unique ID will now be stored in the Stratus database which will allow users to move memory cards between field computers without negative effects.

Also added to the Premium Services section of FarmRite, Summit Professional users can now access national and regional weather radar.

SST Summit All Versions – 4.3

Revert to Previous Field Boundary
Under Setup/Field Management/Edit-Delete Fields there is now a new button called “Revert Boundary”. This new function will allow users to replace the current boundary with one created previously. This function was added to address the issue of accidental clipping from Stratus, or in the case that another user incorrectly updated the field boundary. When reverting to the old boundary all of it’s management zones will be resurrected.
