SST Software Delivers Web-based Scouting Analytics Tools \\ MAY 24, 2016

SST Analytics Provides Scouting Business Intelligence Tools

STILLWATER, OK – MAY 24, 2016:  SST Software is challenging the status quo in crop scouting by providing deeper insights through SST Analytics. The recent release in SST Analytics allows agronomists and agricultural retailers to perform a regional analysis on how crops are progressing across datasets within their company.

“SST Analytics is continuing to develop into a holistic business intelligence (BI) tool that allows retail management to transform regional data within the company into actionable insights,” said Aaron McIntire, Product Manager for SST Analytics. “Crop scouting helps the precision ag community stay informed of field conditions. We are excited to release these tools to the market, so managers and agronomists can obtain the information needed to help them catch and diagnose problems on a larger scale before major losses occur.”

SST Analytics’ scouting reports will show current season growth stage progression, soil conditions and crop heights. When looking at crop issues (weeds, insects and diseases), users can see across their company’s entire dataset. This enables managers and agronomists to analyze the location(s) where issues are present and the underlying information needed to determine the severity or density.

“The addition of scouting data in SST Analytics provides the insights needed to transform raw data into meaningful and useful information for business analysis purposes,” said Matt Waits, SST Software Chief Executive Officer. “The use of scouting datasets will help managers and agronomists make actionable decisions that could economically impact their growers and the company.”

Within a company, results can be narrowed to a single grower to include the number of days since a field was last scouted and the crop issues recorded. Managers can quantify scouting activity by user to analyze where users are scouting and what they are scouting. A comparison analysis between an individual’s scouting activity and other agronomists can also be conducted to evaluate operational productivity.

Information from SST Summit and Sirrus easily integrates into SST Analytics, making it easier for managers to maintain records and view reports in a centralized location. SST Analytics updates on a weekly basis, and users can choose reports to have automatically emailed to them. Scouting reports are now available in SST Analytics. Those interested in incorporating SST Analytics BI tools into their precision agricultural program can contact SST Software at 888-377-5334.

Partnerships Through the agX Platform Bring Increased Efficiency in Soil Fertility \\ April 14, 2016

STILLWATER, OK – April 14, 2016:  SST Software and Servi-Tech announce an application program interface (API) connection through the agX Platform to streamline data processing and seamlessly integrate with other agricultural services.

Servi-Tech is the largest crop consulting and agronomic service company in the nation, providing agronomic services to more than 1,900 producers across seven states. The crop consulting division has approximately 1 million acres under contract. Using the newest agricultural technology, Servi-Tech strives to make the most efficient use of their crop production resources.

With the new agX Platform API integration, Servi-Tech will be able to streamline internal processes of orders submitted from SST Summit or SST Sirrus. Through the new functionality created, Servi-Tech will be able to bar code soil sample bags to automate the process and more efficiently deliver data to the SST server. The agX API integration allows the two companies to efficiently transfer data securely so producers can get the information they need, when they need it.

“The integration of Streamline with the agX platform will help Servi-Tech Laboratory and SST customers drastically increase efficiency with automated soil data delivery,” said Ryan Meister, Director of Technology Development with Servi-Tech. “With this update, Servi-Tech Laboratories delivers soil results directly to the soil sampling operation within SST's system.”

Soil sampling is essential to effective soil fertility planning and management. Samples reflect the overall fertility of the field so subsequent recommendations can be made in an efficient, precise manner. Utilizing these results, producers can adequately supply the proper nutrients needed for plant production by applying the right inputs to maintain or improve the physical, chemical and biological condition of the soil. Collaboration through the agX Platform has allowed Servi-Tech’s agronomy precision solutions team and SST’s advanced geospatial tools to come together to provide a more dynamic service for producers.

“Precise agronomic applications are important to SST users,” said Matt Waits, SST Software CEO. “Servi-Tech’s expertise and use of current technologies, research and science combined with SST’s in-field mobility geospatial tools, advanced data processing and multi-year analysis capabilities creates a progressive opportunity for the ag community that will help growers optimize their inputs and outputs.”

SST Software was one of the first companies in what is commonly referred to as precision farming and today manages more than 100 million acres of geospatial farm data. SST’s tools allow ag service providers to site-specifically collect, analyze and manage data on crop production fields. SST’s holistic ecosystem is built upon a strong foundation of five key essentials that helps end users optimize and scale their geospatial data needs. GEOSYS and SST Software Collaborate via the agX Platform to Add In-Season Imagery \\ March 14, 2016

The partnership integrates GEOSYS technology into the agX Platform for seamless and secure data exchange

MINNEAPOLIS – March 14, 2016:  GEOSYS, a leading global provider of agronomic decision support tools, today announced a collaboration with SST Software to add in-season satellite imagery for users in North America and Australia via the agX® Platform, which acts as a portal for users to seamlessly share data.

As part of the collaboration, any agX compliant precision farming application will have access to GEOSYS’ in-season imagery program. Some companies, such as Cotton Growers Services in Australia, have already seen the benefits of having access to both GEOSYS and SST platforms, which will be more easily accessible through this partnership.

“Cotton Growers Services started using GEOSYS Imagery products on a broad scale in the 2015-2016 cotton season,” said Reinder Prins, Business Development Director for Cotton Growers Services. “The imagery provides our growers with regular snapshots of their crop and assists us with targeted crop scouting and making the correct crop-management decisions. Images are regularly converted into in-field management zones and are then used for zone-based management instead of treating the whole field as a management zone, for example by ways of Variable Rate growth regulator and foliar fertiliser application. Being able to offer Geosys imagery as part of our wider agX offerings to growers, allows us to provide the best possible Precision Agriculture tools to our clients.”

This collaboration is the latest example of how proven, global agricultural organizations are working together to build unique digital solutions for agribusinesses.

“Due to a variety of factors, including the current low commodity prices, it is increasingly important for agribusinesses to have the best tools to assist growers in managing risk and improving efficiencies,” said Damien Lepoutre, founder and president of GEOSYS. “Partnering with an esteemed organization like SST Software gives our clients in all regions confidence in the ability to combine categorically different insights to improve crop management and positively impact yield.”

During the 2015 growing season, the GEOSYS Virtual Satellite Constellation delivered an average of more than 15 in-season Normalized Difference Vegetative Index (NDVI) maps per field, across the major cropping areas in the U.S. The agX Platform will allow users to combine satellite imagery maps with other data sources in one user-interface that retailers, co-ops and growers can use to scout their fields and make decisions about crop input applications.

“The integration of GEOSYS’ high-frequency imagery into the SST system will greatly enhance the offerings of our agronomic partners,” said Matt Waits, CEO of SST Software. “By pairing this new source of data with the soil test, yield and scouting data already being managed in the SST system, agronomists will be more effective at providing actionable insights to farmers.”

GEOSYS imagery will be available via the agX Store in April of 2016.

Sentera Extends Product Solution Compatibility to agX Platform \\ February 9, 2016

STILLWATER, OK – February 9, 2016:  Imagery and geographic information systems (GIS) resource data is an important factor in the improvement of crop health. Sentera announces it has partnered with SST Software and its agX Platform. Being agX compatible allows Sentera to streamline data processing and seamlessly integrate imagery services to help improve agricultural resource management.

Sentera continually looks for ways to help customers increase efficiencies through robust, innovative remote sensing and software solutions. In one year, Sentera’s equipment collected 16 million images, covered 15 million acres and gathered 175 terabytes of data from 8,000 flights. By enhancing its system to become agX compatible, Sentera’s AgVault software can easily share and export imagery data.

“We are proud to announce our compatibility with agX which allows existing and future customers to seamlessly integrate Sentera’s AgVault Software, sensors, and drones into their growing operations,” said Kris Poulson, vice president of agriculture for Sentera. “Our AgVault Software is beneficial to farmers because they can access drone, satellite, and manned-aircraft imagery without an internet connection, at the field’s edge, and make critical input decisions using real-time data.”

Remote sensing in crop production can help boost yields and provide environmental sustainability. This methodology uses imagery to assist in scouting, identifying nitrogen deficiencies and detecting faulty application equipment within fertilizer and irrigation systems. Sentera’s high performance near-infrared (NIR) plus normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) cameras have sensors that deliver real-time insights into how plants are developing. Afterward, AgVault catalogs the images by field and year and tiles them into complete maps to generate NDVI data. The data can then be shared and synced among everyone within a company.

SST Analytics Helps Ag Retailers Navigate Down Economy \\ January 21, 2016

Stillwater, OK – January 21, 2016:  The next few years may be tough for ag retailers. High yields continue to depress grain prices while the global economy faces contraction on many fronts. This has many in the agribusiness sector concerned about how long this current downcycle may last.

SST Analytics is a Business Intelligence (BI) tool that uses Big Data to assist ag retailers as they navigate these tough times. The product allows companies to anonymously aggregate their regional datasets in order to examine not only agronomic trends but also performance trends by location and employee.

“SST Analytics is helping ag service organizations to make more informed agronomic decisions in the field,” states Matt Waits, CEO of SST, “But the product is also moving the concept of precision management from the farm field to inside the organization via Business Intelligence.”

SST Analytics allows the management of large ag service organizations to generate weekly reports on the field activity and sales performance of their retail locations and sales-agronomists. For example, reports can show how many acres each retail location has enrolled in its precision ag program and list out the acres serviced by employee. Management can do a market share analysis to see how much of the market their organization services by county and how their clients performed compared to county averages; and management may identify the employees or locations that are key producers.

“Soon SST Analytics will allow management to look at product usage and in-depth scouting activity,” states Aaron McIntire, Product Manager for SST Analytics. McIntire explains, “This allows for questions such as, ‘How many acres of X product was applied? How does product application break down by county or business unit? What are the top products being recommended versus actual products applied? What effect does the time of year make when recommending products versus actual fulfillment? Who are our top agronomic salesmen for recommendation to fulfillment conversions?’  These types of questions can also be applied to scouting and pest control.”

In a time when ag retail management must focus on improving business execution while facing decreasing orders and lower profit margins, SST Analytics helps retail management recognize areas of value and performance throughout their organization.

After using SST’s FarmRite for automated batch nutrient recommendation processing, Summit automatically generates product recommendations based on the service provider’s agronomic equations. Service providers can then edit variable rate application fertilizer recommendations in Sirrus Premium using their agronomic logic.

Sirrus Premium’s advanced recommendation editor allows service providers to make adjustments in the field or while meeting with a grower. Users can edit fertilizer application values by rate, cost or total product. Sirrus automatically credits rates based on previous or flat rate applications. After a product is selected, labels and SDS are readily available to ensure proper safety and product application.

“Variable rate application technology is complex,” said Drew McMahon, Product Manager for Sirrus. “But, Sirrus Premium makes it easy. It enables our customers to make better management decisions using quality data and their own logic.” SST Software has developed enterprise-level geospatial software and applications for more than 20 years. As an agX Compliant company, SST Software offers standardized field data to increase the quality of data collected. Data can be shared securely with other agX users and applications to increase efficiency, value and collaboration.

Sirrus is available for free in the App Store.

FarmRite

Prepare your variable rate seeding (VRS) and variable rate nitrogen recs now with FarmRite. Many users are using three or more years of yield data to measure performance and determine above average or below average areas. Multi-Year Yield Analysis can produce three reports that will highlight variability:  spatial trends, temporal stability, and management zones. Use these maps to put the right rate in the right place.

Spatial Trends identify areas of the field that performed above or below average across all the data. Temporal Stability identifies the percent change in yield data over time to show yield data consistency across the field. Management Zones identifies areas consistently high, average or low in yield performance as well as areas of the field that are inconsistent over time.

Using these techniques can help in planning for 2017 seed purchases to optimize both input costs and profit.

Sirrus

SST Software has implemented background syncing for Sirrus for iPhone users. Background syncing will automatically sync activities as you work within the application. With this development, all activities will be auto-saved to prevent losing data during power loss or a crash. Background syncing is coming soon to Sirrus for iPad. New home screen dashboards are coming soon to Sirrus for iPad along with new tiles incorporating soil sampling and fertilizer recommendations. The new iPad dashboards will reflect the same user interface of Sirrus for iPhone.

SST tech Tips

In Sirrus Premium, add product and application costs when editing variable rate fertilizer recommendations. Costs can be applied to the field area or the applied area. Once costs are adjusted, Sirrus automatically credits rates based on previous or flat rate applications. Cost adjustments are tied to the fertilizer recommendation and can be printed in the fertility report.
